I’m new to infant photography and looking for someone more experienced who can kindly give me some feedback. So I’m trying to figure out how I’ll keep faux fur and other delicate newborn backdrops/props sanitary. It seems that a lot of the materials are spot clean or dry clean only (can be more expensive than the actual fabric). If you have a minute to reply, and have some suggestions for keeping materials hygienic I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
I wash all of my reasonably sized faux fur in my washing machine with ALL CLEAR Free detergent. I let it air dry. For the gowns we usually dry clean or do gentle cycle and then let air dry. Yes it is true these are more delicate fabrics, but so are the subjects. 😉
I just wanted to know what grade of cheesecloth you recommend. Is 10 good enough?
We buy from raglady.com and use grade #60. We also use the same cheesecloth to dye.
Hi I am just starting out in pregnancy and newborn photography and I have a friend that wanted to get pregnancy and newborn photos done but now she is not sure of the pregnancy shots cos of her weight how can i make her comfortable to get her pregnancy photos for the beautiful memories and what are the best angles and poses for ladies who are very self conscious. Would so love to come do some of your workshops but i live in Australia, all your images are beautiful.
Let her know you can dress her to focus on the belly. Most Mamas are self conscious about their weight in general. If you cover the arms and focus on the tummy it might take the pressure off. Button down sweaters are great for cover the arms and just show the belly. Our Shrugitas are also great and are lighter weight. The more you can talk with her and go over ideas and clothing, the more she will trust you. Tight dresses that are darker work well and of course our Mama gowns also have sheer material to focus on the tummy.
What is the name of the company you recommend (and use) for editing?
What company or products do you use for your floors. I am trying to find a portable type flooring.
